I grew up in small Southern Baptist Churches.  My dad was a bivocational Pastor and my mom was right there at his side playing the piano.  I walked down the aisle and joined the church when I was about 8 years old, but there always seemed to be something missing.  It wasn't til after Cecilia and I got married that I both, felt the responsibility to be the spiritual head of my home and felt that something was missing in my life.  I seemed to be going through life without a purpose.

Then one day while driving down the road, I finally gave my life fully to the Lord Jesus.  I made a committment to do whatever He asked me to do--and I found that sense of purpose and meaning in life I had searched for, for so long.  I found that it is only in a relationship with Jesus that life has any meaning or purpose.

A few years later, God lead me to leave teaching school and serve as a Minister of Youth.  I served at churches in Oklahoma and Texas for over twenty years.  During the last four years of that ministry, I returned to teaching school--and I am currently teaching science at Amber High School.

In November of 2011, God called me to serve as bivocational Pastor here at Mustang Heights.  God has blessed our church and I beleive that He intends to do great things in and through our church.  I invite you to join us as we worship together and as we reach out to this community, our state, our nation and the world, for Christ.

God Bless you,

Bro. Darrell
